The water table in that island is high (it reminded me of St. Maarten but you're right about New Orleans too). In the American cemetery in Manila the people are below ground. The Chinese cemetery in Manila is supposed to be interesting too - it's on my list. I think there are a fair amount of cremations here too.

Your cemetary picture appears to have the graves all above ground, like in New Orleans. Is that so? Is the water table high?
